Representatives of Energoatom management, branches – “ SS NPPs”, “SS “Atomremontservice”, “SS “Atomenergomash”, and contractors, attended the meeting.

A number of relevant issues were considered, including the prospect of switching the Rivne NPP units to an 18-month fuel cycle, conducting outages and ensuring reliable operation of the plant main equipment.

Rivne NPP Director General Taras Tkach stressed that such a project would become a pilot one for the industry,

“All the issues raised are interrelated, primarily with the prospect of switching the Rivne NPP units to an 18-month fuel cycle. This will be a pilot project for the nuclear industry of Ukraine. Switching to a new fuel cycle is not only a technical step, but also a strategic decision that will strengthen the energy independence of our country. We have already identified challenging equipment components that require repair or replacement, and considered ways to optimize the implementation of these activities within the framework of the outage 2026. I am confident that the professionalism of our team and partners will allow us to successfully implement the tasks set.”

Acting CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Pavlo Kovtonyuk emphasized the main task of the Company: ensuring steady, safe and efficient operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants in any conditions, as well as to increase its efficiency.

“Currently, we are laying today the foundation for switching Ukrainian nuclear power plants to a new fuel cycle. This is a modern approach meeting the best international practices. Such a step requires coordinated work of all participants in the process – from equipment manufacturers to maintenance and operational departments. “We must ensure absolute reliability of operating power units, effective planning of repair campaigns, and a high level of safety culture. Our decisions today are an investment in the future of the state,” said Energoatom head.
