History of creation
In order to improve the quality management and efficiency of repair work performed at Ukrainian nuclear power plants, on November 24, 2000, Energoatom signed Order No. 821 on the establishment of a separate Atomremontservis (ARS) subdivision on the basis of the ChNPP Centralized Repair Center. On February 21, 2001, ARS was included in the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine (State Statistics Committee of Ukraine Certificate No. 1494-01). Atomremontservice has its production sites in the satellite cities of Ukrainian NPPs: Netishyn (KhNPP), Yuzhnoukrainsk (NPP) and Varash (RNPP).
Purpose and areas of activity
Safe and efficient performance of complex and non-routine repair work, including installation, reconstruction and modernization of equipment at nuclear power plants; work on the control and repair of fuel assemblies using the Fuel Inspection and Repair Stand (FIRS). According to Order No. 664 dated 26.08.2020, Atomremontservice was assigned the functions of commissioning and operating the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF).
The main functions of the separate unit are:
Employees of Atomremontservice are highly qualified specialists and workers with practical experience in nuclear energy, equipped with advanced technologies and unique expensive equipment and facilities that allow them to effectively perform work at all the Company's NPPs. The Atomremontservis Company of SE NNEGC Energoatom includes the following structural production units
Achievements
In 2017, Atomremontservice personnel were trained and began to independently inspect Westinghouse fuel assemblies (FAW-W/WR) using a fuel inspection and repair stand (FIRS).
In 2020, Atomremontservice successfully overhauled the high-pressure cylinder (HPC) of the K-1000-60/1500 turbine unit for the first time in Ukraine. The work on the complete replacement of the high-pressure rotor with a new modernized one and the replacement of the flow part of the HPC with a new one took place during the outage. The uniqueness of the work performed was the need to move the entire HPC casing together with the bearing support. Never before in Ukraine has a cylinder body together with the installed pipelines been moved at any NPP.
Thanks to the professionalism of ARS specialists, it became possible to increase the electrical capacity of Unit 2 of the South Ukrainian NPP by an additional 12 MW and increase the time interval between the necessary scheduled maintenance of the K-1000-60/1500 turbine unit.
