Home Separate Units Branch “SS “Atomremontservice”

History of creation

In order to improve the quality management and efficiency of repair activities carried out at Ukrainian nuclear power plants, on November 24, 2000, State Enterprise “NNEGC “Energoatom” signed Order No. 821 on the establishment of Separate Subdivision “Atomremontservice” on the basis of Centralized Maintenance Center of State Specialized Enterprise ChNPP.

On February 21, 2001, Separate Subdivision “Atomremontservice” was included in the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine (certificate of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine No. 1494-01).

The branch “Separate Subdivision “Atomremontservice” (branch “SS ARS”) has its own production sites at Ukrainian nuclear power plants: branch “SS KhNPP”, branch “SS SUNPP”, branch “SS RNPP”.

Purpose and areas of activity

Safe and efficient performance of complex and non-routing maintenance activities, including design, installation, repair, reconstruction and modernization of equipment at Ukrainian NPPs, safe operation of the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility, as well as personnel certification for non-destructive testing in accordance with the requirements of DSTU EN ISO 9712.

Branch “SS “Atomremontservis” has 40 permitting documents to carry out its activities. Branch “SS ARS” has confirmed the functioning of the quality management system, occupational health and safety management system, and environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of international standards DSTU ISO 9001:2015 (ISO 9001:2015, IDT), DSTU ISO 45001:2019 (ISO 45001:2018, IDT), DSTU ISO 14001:2015 (ISO 14001:2015, IDT).

The personnel of the branch “SS “Atomremontservis” are highly qualified employees with many years of practical experience in nuclear industry, equipped with advanced technologies, unique equipment and facilities, that allows the staff to effectively perform work of any complexity at all NPPs of Ukraine.

Branch “SS “Atomremontservice” includes the following departments:

  • Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF)
  • Thermal and Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Department
  • Electrical Equipment Maintenance Department
  • Thermal Instrumentation Department
  • Fire Protection and Anti-Corrosion Works Department
  • Engineering Center
  • Non-Destructive Testing and Measurement Methods Departments
  • Qualification and Certification Center

Achievements

  1. Performance of spent fuel transportation and storage in the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility.
  2. Establishment of the electric laboratory for diagnostics, comprehensive inspection and assessment of the technical condition of power transformers.
  3. Performance of laser centering of rotors and the steam path of turbine unit cylinders when repairing cylinders and the “shaft line” using the Easy-Laser equipment set.
  4. Modernization and repair of “high-speed” generators.

Promising projects:

  • Establishment of a team for the repair of SF6 circuit breakers, based on “SS ARS” branch.
  • Mastering the technology for precise reaming of holes in the connecting “rigid” couplings of rotors of turbine and pump units.
  • Measurement of the internal dimensions of the VVER-1000 reactor core baffle using the VK-5 measuring complex.
  • “Pilot” modernization of flange joint sealing assemblies with the transfer to thermally expanded graphite gaskets of primary and secondary collectors of PGV-1000M steam generators at Unit 3 of the branch “SS RNPP” using the US-400 device.
  • Production startup of a set of equipment manufactured by Fronius company.
