On February 23, at 03:42 a.m., the branch “SS SUNPP” of the JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” recorded the production of 700 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity! This is the result of performance of several generations of power employees, who have worked inexhaustibly for over 40 years at the facilities of the South Ukraine Energy Complex: the South Ukraine NPP, the Tashlyk PSPP, and the Oleksandrivska HPP.
“Another significant milestone in the history of the plant team has been reached. These 700 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity include the contribution of each employee – those people who provide the country with electricity with their routine activities, those who have been on a well-deserved rest for a long time, and those who have recently entered a job. The employees of the South Ukraine NPP are specialists devoted to their chosen job. They proved their professionalism, resilience, and courage during the difficult period of military aggression, during missile attacks on the energy system, during the flights of enemy “shaheeds” in the immediate vicinity of power facilities.
Our team is constantly and intentionally working to improve the safety of nuclear units, to implement modern innovative programs and projects. This allows us not only to ensure safe and reliable operation of the equipment of power units and hydroelectric installations, but also be confident about the future. A peaceful future for our state, which needs electricity for reconstruction and development,” said Vyacheslav Stoyanov, Director General of the branch “SS SUNPP”.
The South Ukraine Energy Complex is the only enterprise in Ukraine with the integrated use of basic nuclear, traditional hydro and manoeuvring pumped-storage capacity. This is a unique facility with real prospects for further development of both the nuclear power and hydrotechnical components.
Currently, the power giant of Southern Ukraine includes three million units of the NPP, two hydro units of the Oleksandrivska HPP and three units of the Tashlyk PSPP. The annual contribution of the branch “SS SUNPP” to the energy production of Ukraine is 17-20 bln kilowatt-hours. The operation of the power generating facilities of the branch “SS SUNPP”, which belong to the “green” energy sector, has prevented the emission of 470.3 million tons of CO2 into the environment.
