The 45th rotation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permanent Monitoring Mission took place at the Rivne NPP site. The new team includes experts from Nigeria and Bulgaria, who arrived to replace the previous group of specialists.

During the kick-off meeting, the new mission representatives got acquainted with the RNPP team, which coordinates the activities of international experts at the plant. The parties discussed the current situation in the field of nuclear safety, and exchanged the groundwork of the previous rotation.

The IAEA experts expressed gratitude to their Ukrainian colleagues for their openness and constructive dialogue. In his turn, Deputy Chief Engineer for Technology and Engineering Valerii Kovalchuk extended appreciation to the previous rotation team for the effective work carried out at the RNPP site, and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation with the new group over the next three weeks.

The main task of the IAEA permanent mission is to monitor compliance with the seven fundamental principles of nuclear safety and security, the implementation of which is critically important in the context of the ongoing armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
