On January 14, the head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin paid a working visit to South Ukraine NPP. Together with the Company's top managers and the management of South Ukraine NPP, he held a meeting on the technical operation of power units and financial, economic, and social activities. He also checked the state of protection of critical infrastructure facilities. The CEO of the joint-stock company also met with representatives of the labor collective, presented awards to the best workers, and introduced the newly appointed SUNPP Chief Engineer.
During the meeting, the executives of the Company and SUNPP discussed several issues related to the technical operation of power units and the Company's financial and economic activities. According to Petro Kotin, the Company closed 2024 with a production result of 53 billion kilowatt-hours of generated electricity. “We have successful financial and economic indicators, good production results for the past year, and no lesser plans for 2025. We work steadily and look forward with confidence. Our task as power engineers is to hold the energy frontline, operate at full power, and supply electricity to the needs of Ukraine. Our successful work guarantees that Ukrainians will have light and heat in their homes. The South Ukraine NPP staff has significant responsibilities. I would like to note that during the temporary occupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, the South Ukraine NPP became the flagship of Ukrainian nuclear power,” said Petro Kotin.
The head of the Company started the meeting with the South Ukraine NPP staff by thanking them for their fruitful work. Mr. Kotin wished the nuclear power professionals an equally successful new year. Vyacheslav Stoyanov, Director General of the affiliate “SS SUNPP” stood for him: “Last year, we worked smoothly and fruitfully. The Company closed 2024 with good results, but we still have areas to work on, and we see where we need to strengthen our work. We are grateful to Energoatom management for paying attention not only to production but also to the social component, particularly to social facilities. I am convinced that the team is our main asset. People are our everything.”
Vyacheslav Stoyanov noted that the Company is currently considering the possibility of repairing several social facilities of the affiliate “SS RNPP”. These include the Palace of Culture “Energetik”, the Sports Complex “Olymp” and the Health Center “Iskra”.
According to Energoatom Vice President Hartmut Jaсob, the financial situation in the Company is currently balanced. This allows us to fulfill our social obligations to the team, maintain the trust of international partners, and provide the public with electricity at an affordable (below market) price. In 2024, Energoatom fully fulfilled its obligations under PSO – the public service obligations.
During the meeting with the staff, the head of the Company announced personnel changes in the SUNPP management. Mr. Kotin expressed warm words and sincere gratitude for many years of work and significant contribution to the reliable and safe operation of the nuclear power plant to Chief Engineer Mykola Feofentov, who has taken a well-deserved rest. Starting from January 15, the newly appointed Chief Engineer, Andrii Fomytskyi, was appointed at the affiliate “SS “South Ukraine NPP”.
