A rotation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency took place at the South Ukraine NPP. The newly arrived team and the team that had already completed its work traditionally met with specialists from the nuclear power plant who would coordinate their work at the NPP. Together, they summarized the results of the previous mission and discussed the work program for the next one.

The main task of the IAEA experts is to monitor nuclear and radiation safety in the context of russian aggression against Ukraine. “It is very important for the South Ukraine NPP that all threats that we and our country face are promptly communicated to the international community,” said Victor Savorona, SUNPP Deputy Director General for Quality and Management.

The head of the previous, 46th, mission noted that international experts did not find any deviations from IAEA safety principles at the South Ukraine NPP. He also thanked the South Ukraine nuclear power plant workers for their support during the mission and expressed hope that his next visit would be to a peaceful Ukraine.

The new team of IAEA experts will continue to carry out the mission's tasks over the next three weeks.
