The Supervisory Board of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” has adopted a series of decisions aimed at strengthening integrity, accountability, and improving the company’s corporate governance system.
In particular, the company has launched the process of selecting the management team for its executive body. At the tenth meeting of the Supervisory Board on May 8, 2026, the Board decided to engage an international recruitment firm to search for highly qualified candidates in Ukraine and abroad.
The Supervisory Board also made certain decisions after reviewing information from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. On May 8, the Board received materials that may indicate potential criminal violations by certain company employees.
Some of the employees mentioned in the NABU letter had already been suspended from their duties in November 2025 in accordance with government decisions and the results of internal investigations. After receiving additional information from NABU on May 11, 2026, a decision was made to suspend another employee.
To strengthen oversight of the executive body’s activities, the Supervisory Board also directed the reorganization of certain structural units responsible for physical protection and economic security. The relevant changes must be implemented by June 19, 2026.
JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” provides comprehensive assistance to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies within the framework of the pre-trial investigation in the “Midas” case. The company is committed to establishing all the facts of the case and strictly adhering to the principles of legality, transparency, and personal accountability.
The Supervisory Board emphasizes that the principle of zero tolerance for corruption remains unchanged for the company. At the same time, any processes related to audits or investigations must not affect the smooth operation of a strategic enterprise on which the country’s energy security, economic stability, and the upcoming heating season depend.
The Executive Board and the Supervisory Board highlight: the company’s operations remain stable, controlled, and uninterrupted. All nuclear power plants are operating in a normal mode, the maintenance campaign is proceeding according to schedule, and the Energoatom team continues to carry out tasks of critical importance to the state.
Currently, Energoatom is the foundation of Ukraine’s power grid and one of the key factors in the country’s economic and social stability. The company generates over 60% of the country’s total electricity, ensuring the base load of the power grid and stable passage of the heating seasons even amid wartime conditions and constant attacks on energy infrastructure.
Energoatom continues to fulfill its public service obligations (PSO), ensuring affordable electricity prices for the public. Despite unprecedented challenges, the company remains one of the largest employers, taxpayers, and contributors to the state budget. This year alone, Energoatom has directed 9 billion UAH in dividends to Ukraine’s state budget.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company has also systematically supported the security and defense sector. The total amount of aid provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by Energoatom and its staff has already reached 21.6 billion UAH.
Separately, the Executive Board notes the contribution of the thousands-strong team of nuclear power plant professionals, who, under challenging conditions, ensure the stable operation of power units, the completion of maintenance campaigns, the strengthening of physical security at facilities, and the implementation of projects of strategic importance to the state.
The Energoatom team ensured the practical implementation of decisions that have significantly strengthened Ukraine’s energy independence. The company has completely abandoned russian nuclear fuel and switched to fuel from the US Westinghouse Electric Company. At the same time, Energoatom is already beginning to develop its in-house fabrication of nuclear fuel components in Ukraine.
The company has also built and commissioned the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF), which enabled Ukraine to stop exporting spent fuel to russia and save significant financial resources for the state. Furthermore, Energoatom has completely phased out the use of russian components and equipment.
The Executive Board of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” calls on the company’s staff to maintain professionalism, coordination, and responsibility in their work. The company will continue to operate in a stable and transparent manner, acting in the interests of the state and the citizens of Ukraine.
