Anton Yakovenko and Alona Perepelytsia have won independent competitive selections for the Management Board’s finance and legal roles.
The Supervisory Board of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” has selected Anton Yakovenko as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Alona Perepelytsia as Chief Legal Officer (CLO), both Members of the Management Board.
This is another step toward a new professional Management Board, following the selection of the Chair (CEO) and the Member responsible for Nuclear Safety and Operations (CNO).
Both selection processes were independent and competitive, supported by international executive search firms Korn Ferry and Odgers. Candidates were assessed against predefined requirements, including a record of leading large organizations and conducting transformation, professional integrity, and the ability to deliver under wartime conditions.
Stronger finance and legal functions are central to Energoatom’s new management model. The Supervisory Board expects Anton Yakovenko’s financial and executive expertise and Alona Perepelytsia’s legal and regulatory experience to reinforce financial discipline, governance, internal controls, and accountability, and to lay the foundation for long-term development.
Anton Yakovenko brings more than 20 years of executive experience across major Ukrainian and international businesses, as both CEO and CFO. He currently serves as CEO of Agricom Group; previously he led Agrii Ukraine (part of Origin Enterprises plc) and Terra Food Group, served as CFO of Roshen Group, and began his career at KPMG. He earned the ACCA qualification in 2006 and holds a Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy (UCGA).
He has raised and restructured more than USD 400 million in financing, transformed corporate finance functions, and implemented international standards of financial reporting, internal control, and corporate governance. As CFO, he will be responsible for Energoatom’s financial sustainability, capital management, transparency, investment readiness, and relationships with international financial institutions.
Alona Perepelytsia has more than 20 years of experience in corporate and regulatory law, supporting major oil & gas companies. She is Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya and previously held senior roles in JSC Ukrnafta’s legal function for over two decades.
Her experience spans corporate governance, complex litigation, international investment projects, government engagement, and managing legal functions in large enterprises. As CLO, she will oversee Energoatom’s legal affairs and litigation strategy, strengthen corporate governance, ensure compliance, support process reforms, and protect the Company’s interests.
Rumina Velshi, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom, said:
“We are steadily building a new professional Management Board for Energoatom. Our objective is not simply to appoint executives, but to establish a modern management system that ensures nuclear safety, operational effectiveness, transparency, and the Company’s long-term resilience.
Strong financial management, effective internal controls, legal certainty, and integrity are essential to restoring trust in Energoatom. Anton Yakovenko and Alona Perepelytsia bring substantial practical experience that will be important in delivering systemic reforms.
We expect them, together with the other members of the Management Board, to form a cohesive professional leadership team capable of driving Energoatom’s fundamental transformation into a modern, transparent, accountable, and high-performing company operating in accordance with international corporate governance standards.”
Matthew Murray, Chair of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Independent Member of the Supervisory Board, said:
“Every appointment to the Management Board must rest on merit: professional qualifications, demonstrated competencies, and independent assessment.
Our process was rigorous by design. Predefined criteria, professional assessment of leadership competencies, and comparative evaluation gave us evidence rather than impressions, and safeguarded the independence and transparency of the selection.
Both competitions were strong, and we thank every candidate for their participation and professionalism. In Anton Yakovenko and Alona Perepelytsia, we have selected leaders of experience and maturity and, above all, of independence and integrity. These are the foundation for transforming Energoatom’s corporate culture.”
Next Steps
Formal appointments will follow the necessary statutory and corporate procedures.
With the CEO, CNO, CFO, and CLO selected, Energoatom has reached an important milestone in building its new professional Management Board. Combined strengths in corporate leadership, nuclear safety, finance, and law provide a solid basis for comprehensive transformation, stronger institutional capacity, and renewed trust among the Ukrainian public and international partners.
Energoatom is currently running competitive selections for Chief People Officer (CPO) and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), and is preparing to launch one for Inspector General, the Management Board member responsible for independent internal oversight of nuclear and radiation safety.
The Supervisory Board continues its work to complete the new Management Board and implement a modern corporate governance model aligned with international standards.
