On January 6, the 35th mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) started working at South Ukraine NPP. The main goal of the IAEA experts is to monitor nuclear and radiation safety at Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the context of russian aggression.

During the working meeting, the mission members got acquainted with the company's management. Representatives of South Ukraine NPP thanked the experts and assured them of complete openness and comprehensive assistance to the mission. “The work of the mission is important for both parties. The IAEA representatives communicate with our employees and go through air alerts with us daily. They can really assess the threat the air alerts pose to us and promptly convey this information to the international community,” said Andrii Fomytskyi, Acting Chief Engineer of South Ukraine NPP.

This is the first time the new team visited South Ukraine NPP. The international experts will work at the site for three weeks. They will inspect equipment, communicate with employees, and analyze the SUNPP needs. The work will continue under constant threat from the russian federation.
