On June 10, 2026, at 21:09, the “ZTPP – Ferosplavna No. 1” power transmission line disconnected at the temporary occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.
As a result, the plant lost its external power supply for house loads and switched to emergency diesel generators, which ensure the operation of critical safety systems.
At 21:25, an attempt to manually reconnect the line was unsuccessful.
This is already the 19th blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP since its occupation by Russian troops and the seventh since the beginning of 2026. Such dynamics indicate a significant increase in risks and the criticality of the situation around the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.
Therefore, in less than six months of 2026, 37% of all ZNPP blackouts during the entire period of russian occupation occurred. Another loss of external power supply underscores once again the high level of threats for nuclear and radiation safety.
Energoatom emphasizes: only the return of the Zaporizhzhia NPP under the full control of Ukraine and its legitimate operator can guarantee safe operation of the plant and prevent the realization of scenarios dangerous for Ukraine, Euroope, and the entire world.
