CEO of Energoatom Petro Kotin emphasized that this law is aimed at improving the efficiency of the Company's activities through the improvement of corporate governance:

“Today, in the context of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and constant rocket attacks on energy infrastructure, nuclear power has proven its strength and ability to withstand aggression, providing more than 50% of electricity generation in the country. We continue reforms and are ready for transformations to make our work even more efficient and contribute to the national nuclear power industry development.”

As a reminder, this week, the International Advisory Board on the corporatization of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” started its work, with the first meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, and attended by the heads of energy departments of the G7 countries.

On February 6, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law on the Joint-Stock Company “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom”.

This is yet another step in fulfilling Ukraine's international obligations to align the management of state-owned enterprises with the best global standards of corporate governance.
