Energoatom strengthens cooperation with Czech Institute for Nuclear Research Řež

On August 13, a working meeting was held at the NNEGC office between Head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin and specialists from ÚJV Řež, one of the leading nuclear research centers in the Czech Republic, headed by Jan Vandral, Member of the Board of Directors, Director of Integrity and Technical Engineering division.

The parties discussed strategic areas of partnership in the field of nuclear energy. In particular, cooperation on the deployment of small modular reactors, safe life extension of operating power units, production of process components for units, etc.

Special attention was paid to the prospects for the implementation of small modular reactors in the Czech Republic and Ukraine, with an emphasis on the exchange of experience, training and internship of NNEGC “Energoatom” personnel in the Czech Republic.

Head of Energoatom Petro Kotin informed the guests about the Company’s strategic projects.

“Like Ukraine, the Czech Republic has a powerful nuclear and industrial infrastructure and considerable experience in operating power units, in particular, VVER technology. Energoatom appreciates our strategic partnership that will benefit both partiesm our Czech colleagues and us. We are happy to share our own developments in diversifying fuel supplies in order to reduce dependence on the russian federation. Our Company is also interested in cooperation with Czech partners, especially in implementing small modular reactor technology,” Petro Kotin emphasized.

As a reminder, JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, together with Czech nuclear employees, participates in programs and activities aimed at strengthening the nuclear safety of nuclear power plants.
