In May, nuclear power units generated 3.7 billion kWh. In the first five months of 2026, Ukraine’s nuclear power plants generated 23.2 billion kWh of electricity.
Overall, Energoatom exceeded its planned electricity production target by 120 million kWh.
As noted by Pavlo Kovtonyuk, head of the NNEGC “Energoatom,” this result was achieved due to the professional and coordinated work of Ukrainian nuclear power plant staff, particularly during scheduled maintenance.
“Amid ongoing russian attacks on energy infrastructure, nuclear power generation remains the foundation of the country’s energy resilience. Therefore, our key priorities remain unchanged: stable electricity production, safe operation of power units, and high-quality, timely maintenance of power units. Thanks to the professionalism of our specialists, we are not only meeting but exceeding production targets, while simultaneously ensuring that the power units are properly prepared for the upcoming autumn-winter period,” emphasized Pavlo Kovtonyuk.
Currently, scheduled maintenance at the NPPs is ahead of schedule by an average of four days. In June, Energoatom’s maintenance campaign on power units located in territory controlled by Ukraine is expected to reach its halfway point.
