Ukrainian nuclear employees awarded on the occasion of Energy Worker’s Day

On December 22, at the affiliate – SS “Emergency Technical Center”, Energoatom CEO Pavlo Kovtonyuk congratulated Ukrainian nuclear employees on their professional holiday, Energy Worker’s Day. He expressed gratitude to the specialists for their efforts and emphasized that all the power units of the NPPs controlled by Ukraine operate reliably, providing about 60% of the country's electricity, thanks to them.

“I am grateful to you, power employees of all industries, for your professionalism and dedication, for supporting Ukraine in such difficult times. I wish you success, health, warmth and light in your homes. May peace come soon. Glory to Ukraine,” he said.

Anatolii Kostyukh, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Safety of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services also congratulated nuclear employees. He appreciated their resilience on behalf of the people’s deputies of Ukraine: “Despite the enemy’s constant attempts to destroy energy infrastructure facilities, the many-thousand-strong team of nuclear power plant workers made every effort to ensure that Ukraine had electricity.” In turn, the people's deputy of Ukraine Serhii Nagorniak, congratulating the nuclear power plant workers, wished the Zaporizhzhia NPP to be liberated from russian occupation as soon as possible and the Ukrainian specialists to return home to their native Energodar.

Ihor Ivanov, Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Industry of the Ministry of Energy, also addressed the Energoatom specialists with a congratulatory speech. He noted that the daily work of nuclear power engineers is the foundation of Ukraine’s energy sustainability:

“Nuclear power is not only the basis of our state’s energy security, but also a symbol of Ukraine’s stability and invincibility, because each of you, in conditions of full-scale invasion, shelling, risks and pressure, performs your work with maximum responsibility.”

Finally, Pavlo Kovtonyuk presented the nuclear power engineers with the badge “Honorary Worker of Nuclear Power” and the award “For Significant Contribution to the Development of Nuclear Power in Ukraine.” Energoatom specialists also received certificates and acknowledgment from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for their significant contribution to the development and maintenance of the energy complex under martial law, personal courage and dedication, and conscientious performance of professional duty.
