At the end of last week, Energoatom hosted 9-11th grade students of the capital-based Ecology and Culture Lyceum. This time, the nuclear power professionals introduced the nuclear energy terminology to the students, which helped them understand the basic concepts of the industry and learn about the peculiarities of nuclear power plants as a low-carbon type of electricity generation.
This visit was especially relevant for the lyceum students, as it coincided with the study of radiation in physics lessons. It is worth noting the initiative of teachers who seek to supplement their classes in this way. The conversation went beyond the textbook: the lyceum students not only learned more about the physical basis of NPP operation, but also discussed modern nuclear power industry, its safety and role in the future.
Traditionally, Energoatom specialists used visualization of technological processes as an educational tool: augmented reality glasses and a three-dimensional model of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe – Zaporizhzhia NPP. This helps to imagine the complexity of the enterprise and see the processes taking place inside in almost real time.
Through lectures and interactive formats, the Company allows learners to dive deeper into the complex and fascinating world of nuclear power, debunking myths about the nuclear sector. It is also an investment in future specialists and opening new career horizons for young people.
