On July 24, a meeting of the management of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” with the university administration took place in the walls of one of the oldest higher education institutions of Ukraine – the National University of Ostroh Academy.
During the visit, Head of Energoatom Petro Kotin and Rector of the University Eduard Balashov signed a memorandum of partnership and cooperation, which opens up new opportunities for the implementation of joint initiatives, contributes to the establishment of a platform for professional dialogue between scientists, nuclear engineers and students.
Within the framework of cooperation, the activities are planned, as follows:
• exchange of information and experience in the field of scientific and educational activities;
• organization of joint events: round tables, seminars, trainings, master classes, conferences;
• holding lectures, methodological seminars and demonstration lessons;
• implementation of educational programs to train training higher education students in specialties relevant to nuclear energy.
According to Petro Kotin, Energoatom has numerous agreements with technical higher education institutions, but the Company is also interested in specialists in the humanitarian fields – in particular, jurisprudence, management and investment. The Ostroh Academy also provides such personnel training.
In his turn, Rector Eduard Balashov informed that the University is analyzing the needs of the modern labor market and is considering the possibility of opening new educational programs in the technical field that meet the current demand. “We are open to new forms of interaction, joint search for new solutions, creation of scientific, pedagogical and creative initiatives that can be implemented, in particular, through the opening of new educational programs,” he added.
Head of NNEGC emphasized that the Academy readiness to expand educational programs opens up even more opportunities for interaction: “This is very important for us. The signed memorandum is the first step towards fruitful cooperation. In fact, the Ostroh Academy is located in the proximity of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant site; and even today, our joint work will help contribute to the formation of a new generation of specialists who will build a successful and independent Ukraine.” Within the framework of their trip, Energoatom representatives visited the Museum of the History of the Ostroh Academy – a unique cultural complex with six thematic expositions, which demonstrates the key stages of the formation of Ukrainian culture and contributes to the preservation and popularization of over 1,500 valuable exhibits.
