Energoatom Reinforces Response Capabilities with Comprehensive Drill at its Emergency and Technical Center

main

On 15 July, personnel at Energoatom's Emergency and Technical Center (ETC) conducted a comprehensive emergency response drill to validate coordination procedures, radiological assessment and rapid response actions following a simulated missile strike on the facility.

During the exercise, ETC specialists:

  • conducted simulated radiological surveys, identified a source of ionizing radiation and performed radiation monitoring;
  • carried out decontamination procedures;
  • conducted specialized diving operations;
  • deployed robotic systems;
  • carried out specialized engineering operations, including debris removal.

The drill demonstrated the ETC personnel's high level of preparedness, effective coordination among response teams and Energoatom's ability to respond swiftly to challenging emergency situations. As Ukraine continues to face persistent wartime threats, maintaining robust emergency response capabilities remains an essential element of nuclear and radiation safety.
