Branch “SS “Energoatom-Trading”

History of creation

Energoatom-Trading is a separate subdivision of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Electricity Market” on March 15, 2018.

Purpose and areas of activity

The purpose of the branch “SS “Energoatom-Trading” is to sell all possible amount of electricity generated by SS NPPs at market prices, as well as prices determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the framework of public service obligations assigned to the Company in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Electricity Market”.

The branch “SS “Energoatom-Trading” sells electricity on the bilateral contracts market, the day-ahead market, the intraday market, the balancing market, and participates in auctions on the ancillary services market.

Currently, 7 out of 15 NPP power units are certified to participate on the ancillary services market (Units 1, 2, 4 of the ZNPP, Units 1.2 of the SUNPP and Units 1,2 of the KhNPP). The total certified frequency maintenance margin is ±140 MW.

Public service obligations

In order to fulfill public special obligations to ensure general public interests, the following activities are being carried out:

payment to the guaranteed buyer of the cost of the service for ensuring the electricity availability for household consumers;
sale of base load electricity to the universal service providers for supply to household consumers in the amount of its minimum consumption per hour in the same month of the previous year at the baseload electricity price, index BASE, on the day-ahead market for the period M-3.

The branch “SS “Energoatom-Trading” as an exporter of electricity pays the SE “Guaranteed Buyer” the cost of the service for ensuring the electricity supply security.
