ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY GOAL
Preservation of natural systems in the area where the Company facilities are located. Realizing the Company’s contribution to the low-carbon future of the country and striving to maximize two advantages of nuclear energy in combating climate change, Energoatom came into the joint initiative with the EU countries to decarbonize Europe’s energy sector and reduce CO₂ emissions: Manifest on achieving climate neutrality and economic growth in the EU energy sector. Ukraine signed a document of this level together with EU member states for the first time.

In order to achieve the goals and basic principles of the environmental policy, NNEGC “Energoatom” implements and supports the best environmental management practices that meet international and national standards.
COMPANY`S IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
In order to achieve the long-term Sustainable Development Goals, electricity generation must be safe and environmentally friendly. Realizing this, NNEGC “Energoatom” adheres to the principles of ensuring environmental safety standards and strives to reduce environmental impact on a continuous basis. In 2025, business performance of the NPPs were carried out in full compliance with all norms and standards of the environmental legislation of Ukraine.
ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE
Caring for the environment is an integral part of the Company’s social responsibility. Energoatom carries out continuous work to ensure environmental safety, preserve and restore natural resources. In the process of production activities, environmental monitoring is carried out on the territory of the industrial sites, NPP sanitary protection and surveillance areas. Its objects are surface, groundwater and wastewater, atmospheric air, soils, bottom sediments, flora and fauna. More than 200 NPP specialists conduct environmental monitoring by areas of activity.
