Women in nuclear: Energoatom challenges stereotypes

main

The admissions campaign is in full swing, so it's time to take a look at nuclear specialties. An education in the nuclear field will not only be a solid start to a successful career, but also an opportunity to join the Energoatom team and work for the benefit of society by developing a strategically important industry.

It is still believed that nuclear specialties are exclusively a male domain. However, the female employees of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” refute this stereotype daily. Here are the facts that speak for themselves:

  • 33% of the Company's team are women;
  • South Ukraine NPP is the leader among Ukrainian nuclear power plants in terms of the proportion of women in the workforce: 34.4% (2,438 female employees);
  • over 1,000 women joined the Energoatom nuclear family last year;
  • almost 700 women hold management positions in the Сompany.

The list of positions held by the Company's female employees is quite extensive: it includes process engineers at NPPs, nuclear and radiation safety specialists, and chemical engineers in plant laboratories.

Women successfully work in human resources, economics and finance, legal support, logistics, material and technical support, IT support, environmental monitoring, public relations, and international cooperation.

The nuclear industry needs specialists with diverse competencies, analytical thinking, responsibility, and leadership skills, which are qualities that have no gender. JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” strictly adheres to the principles of gender equality, supporting a policy of non-discrimination and creating fair conditions for all employees of the Company.

Join the Energoatom team – together we are creating Ukraine's energy independence!
