On the afternoon of June 20, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP experienced its 20th blackout.
Due to the disconnection of the “ZaTPP – Ferrosplavna 1” overhead power line, the ZNPP lost its external power supply and switched to diesel generators to supply its house loads.
At 17:50, the external power supply to the temporarily occupied ZNPP was successfully restored.
Currently, the plant house loads are being covered via a 330 kV overhead power line.
This is the eights blackout at the ZNPP since the beginning of 2026. Every such incident poses risks to the nuclear and radiation safety of Ukraine and the entire Europe. Returning the plant to the control of Ukraine and its legitimate operator, Energoatom, is the only way to ensure the steady operation of the largest nuclear facility in Europe!
