The ZNPP is again on the verge of blackout: only one power supply line is working

main

Today, on May 23, 2024, at 01:31 p.m., the off-site power supply line 750 kV Dniprovska connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the unified energy system of Ukraine was disconnected. Currently, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is connected to the Ukrainian power grid only by the power transmission line 330 kV “Zaporizhzhia TPP — Ferosplavna”.

In case of this line failure, another blackout will occur at the ZNPP, which is a serious violation of the conditions of normal operation of the plant and threatens with the development of an accident!

“The russian occupiers continue creating an extremely dangerous situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. In order to prevent the development of worst-case scenarios, the plant must return to the control of its legitimate operator – Energoatom as soon as possible," –head of the Company Petro Kotin emphasizes.

We remind you that since the beginning of the russian occupation, the Zaporizhzhia NPP has already experienced eight complete blackouts and one partial one - with the start of emergency diesel generators and safety systems. Their refusal threatens the development of a nuclear and radiation accident.
