The company continues to shoulder the principal financial burden of the Public Service Obligation mechanism. Energoatom's PSO funding enables the Ukrainian Government to keep electricity tariffs for millions of Ukrainian households well below market levels.
During the first half of 2026, the state-owned nuclear operator made its PSO payments totalling UAH 131.116 billion (including VAT). The company has no outstanding PSO liabilities to JSC Guaranteed Buyer, the state-owned administrator of Ukraine's PSO mechanism.
Since the beginning of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Energoatom's payments under the Public Service Obligation mechanism have exceeded UAH 528.9 billion (including VAT).
The annual breakdown is as follows:
- 2022: UAH 79.178 billion;
- 2023: UAH 127.993 billion;
- 2024: UAH 153.184 billion;
- 2025: UAH 168.546 billion.
