The Society of Disabled Veterans of the Chernobyl Accident Elimination summed up their performance for 2024, emphasizing the successful implementation of all planned activities. JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” provided significant financial support to the Society.
The veterans expressed their support for the construction of new power units at the Khmelnytskyi NPP in a letter addressed to Acting CEO Petro Kotin.
“As concerned nuclear employees and pioneers in nuclear power industry of Ukraine, we are very pleased, that on February 11, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave the team of NNEGC “Energoatom” the go-ahead to start work on the completion of two nuclear giants at the Khmelnytskyi NPP. We believe that under your leadership, the Company team will definitely complete the construction of two additional million-watt units at the KhNPP, that will become a guarantee of Ukraine’s energy stability,” the letter says.
The liquidators also mentioned that despite all the challenges of the war, nuclear generation had operated without failures, providing Ukrainians with electricity even in the most difficult moments, and it was Energoatom, that acted as the guarantor of the country energy security, confirming that nuclear energy remained a key element of Ukraine’s energy independence.
“We are sincerely grateful to our veteran liquidators who dedicated their efforts and health for the sake of the future. Their support inspires us to continue working. The construction of new power units at the KhNPP is not only strengthening Ukraine’s energy security, but also implementing a common dream of a stable energy future. We will do everything to justify confidence and provide the country with reliable nuclear generation,” Acting CEO of NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin said.
