On the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the branch “SS “Emergency Technical Center”, Oleksandr Ostapovets, Inspector General – Director for Safety, Acting Board Member of Energoatom and Anton Ovsienko, Head of the Bilohorodka Community visited the subdivision site.
Oleksandr Ostapovets and Anton Ovsienko congratulated the employees of Emergency Technical Center on the anniversary of the establishment of the subdivision and took part in the ceremony of awarding specialists for their conscientious efforts, professionalism and a responsible attitude to work.
Oleksandr Ostapovets expressed gratitude to the Emergency Technical Center team for their reliable work, emphasizing that this Energoatom’s subdivision plays an important role in ensuring constant readiness for prompt and effective actions in case of a radiological emergency.
“This subdivision is extremely important for Energoatom, because it is our emergency preparedness: multi-level and consisting of different stages. The staff constantly conducts emergency drills together with our subdivisions and branches – SS NPPs.
Training is carried out according to specially developed programs, practical actions are drilled to eliminate certain consequences,” he said.
Director of the branch “Emergency Technical Center” Serhii Kruk emphasized that the unit was actively developing and successfully performing tasks to eliminate potential emergencies and radiation risks.
“Owing to the support of the Company, our team is constantly being strengthened, in addition to our highly qualified specialists. This allows Emergency Technical Center to show excellent results in mobility, efficiency and decision-making. Moreover, we plan to improve interaction with civil protection services,” he added.
In addition, a competition for the title of the best professional team of Energoatom Emergency Power was held at the site of Emergency Technical Center. In order to ensure and maintain a high level of emergency preparedness, teams practiced the following skills at four locations:
- dosimetry control;
- decontamination;
- vehicle maneuvering;
- first-aid.
