On November 27, 2025, the general meeting of the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum Association was held. The participants discussed the current year performance and outlined plans for the future. The meeting became a platform for discussing the role of nuclear energy in strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and enhancing cooperation between leading companies in the industry.
Ihor Dir, UNF Director General, emphasized the intensification of the association’s partnership with specialized organizations, active participation in international platforms and rulemaking processes. According to him, this year the UNF held a number of round tables, extended the dialogue with key stakeholders and enhanced expert participation in the development of Ukrainian nuclear generation.
Oleksandr Ostapovets, UNF President, emphasized important international achievements: in 2025, memorandums were signed with specialized associations of France and Bulgaria, as well as a memorandum on the establishment of a national platform for the development of nuclear sector “Energy of the Future”. In addition, four new associated participants joined the UNF; this demonstrates the growing interest of Ukrainian enterprises in joining forces in the nuclear field.
Planning activities for 2026, the association participants prioritized further strengthening the role of nuclear sector as a basic low-carbon source of electricity and supporting the development of the nuclear industrial complex. The UNF will continue to promote the implementation of new nuclear projects, develop internal cooperation between enterprises, and strengthen the integration of the Ukrainian nuclear industry into international markets.
Igor Dir emphasized that Ukrainian companies have extensive experience and perform a rather wide range of activities in the nuclear industry sector. “Energy independence of Ukraine should be enhanced precisely with the assistance of domestic companies. We will continue to actively promote the localization of production and create conditions for Ukrainian enterprises to strengthen the domestic market and reach the international level as well,” he added.
