On November 18, a meeting was held at the Energoatom office between Acting CEO Pavlo Kovtonyuk and Michael Knochenhauer, Director General of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
The Swedish representatives received comprehensive updates on the situation at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, as well as the operational status of nuclear power plants and preparations for the autumn-winter period.
The parties also discussed the successful long-term experience of cooperation in the field of nuclear safety between Ukraine and Sweden. Pavlo Kovtonyuk expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Sweden for their strong support for Ukraine in the context of the war, in particular for humanitarian and technical assistance in the field of nuclear safety and security.
Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint projects and expressed their readiness to deepen their partnership to strengthen nuclear safety in Ukraine.
