During a joint briefing with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that Ukraine was one of the countries that had most technological skilled experience in the world, in particular owing to the participation of Energoatom and the nuclear regulator.
Rafael Grossi recalled that nuclear power plants were providing 50% of Ukraine’s energy needs, playing a key role in stable energy supply in a difficult period for our country.
“This country has already an enormous competitive and comparative advantage. Not many countries have this opportunity. So, I think Ukraine must have full use of it,” he added.
According to Rafael Grossi, the issue of completing Units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP was considered during the meeting.
