Under russia's full-scale military aggression against Ukraine, the Westinghouse company pursues a pre-war plan and continues cooperation with Energoatom on the construction of new nuclear power units in Ukraine. The President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin told about this in an interview with Delo.ua.

He thanked all of the Company's American strategic partners, including Westinghouse, for cooperation that is currently at the highest level over the entire 25-year history of Energoatom.

At the same time, Mr. Kotin stressed, every step of cooperation with the USA in the nuclear field comes amid a massive attack by pro-kremlin pseudo-experts and sycophants, given that the Company completely refused russian suppliers, their technologies and components. "Currently, SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" does not depend on russia in any way. During 2021-2022, together with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, we implemented a set of measures so that the domestic nuclear power industry would completely get rid of its dependence on russian technologies, nuclear fuel, spare parts and components. For this, we are harshly criticized by the fifth column of pro-russian pseudo-experts who do not believe that we will be able to build new power units using the U.S. AP1000® technology," he said.

Energoatom’s CEO added that for nearly two decades, the entry of the U.S. companies into the nuclear industry of Ukraine was hindered by lobbyists of russian interests in Ukraine, and even now "there are still many of them, and they try to influence through the information space and officials."
