Information spread on certain media claiming that JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” has allegedly decided to consolidate lots during exchange auctions for the sale of electricity is not true and is based on a misinterpretation of the auction mechanism.
The so-called “lot consolidation” is not a decision made by JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom.” Under the Electronic Auction Regulations, buyers are independently entitled to combine between 50 and 200 lots into their own counteroffer. The seller neither forms nor approves such combinations and has no influence over this process.
During the additional trading period, the electronic trading system automatically ranks buyers’ counteroffers based on the price criterion. The seller considers and makes a decision solely on the offer that the system identifies as the best at the relevant moment, taking into account the requested volume, the number of active participants, and the availability of alternative demand.
JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” sells electricity exclusively through open and competitive electronic auctions, where all participants operate under equal conditions, anonymity is ensured, and auction results are determined on the basis of free market pricing in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Manipulative interpretations of exchange trading mechanisms and attributing decisions to Energoatom that the company has never misled the public, discredit transparent market procedures, and undermine confidence in organized trading mechanisms.
We call on the authors of these publications and all participants in the public discussion to rely on facts, the provisions of the Electronic Auction Regulations, and the requirements of the applicable legislation rather than on assumptions.
