Before that, he, together with the plant Director General and responsible specialists, had toured the site areas to assess the progress of the completed works.

The head of NNEGC emphasized that the restoration works were on schedule and performed with high quality: “Our experts are actively working on the site areas for the future power units 3 and 4. Most of the premises of power unit 3 have already been completely restored, and the equipment is actually ready for installation there. Necessary activities have also been started on power unit 4”.

At the same time, he stressed the need to continue meeting established schedules to complete all tasks within the specified time period.

“We had the task of being ready for the installation of equipment on power unit 3 in the warm season. I can state that we are on this schedule,” Petro Kotin said.

The head of NNEGC mentioned that the construction of new power units was in line with the Energy Strategy of Ukraine. Energoatom faces the task of increasing capacity to 17.4 GW in 2032, and to 23.7 GW in 2050. Therefore, there can be no delays in preparing for the startup of new reactors.

At the end, Petro Kotin conferred awards on the plant employees. The nuclear power specialists were recognized for their significant contribution to the development and maintenance of the power complex in the conditions of martial law, professionalism, as well as active support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participation in the volunteer movement, and a concerned civil position.
