Energoatom employees participated in an event commemorating Ukrainian Political Prisoners' Day

main

On January 12, Energoatom employees attended the event "Ukrainian Political Prisoners' Day: Memory and Action" at Mystetskyi Arsenal, held as part of the exhibition “Vasyl Stus. As long as we are here, everything will be fine.”

The event, held on the anniversary of the mass arrests of Ukrainian dissidents in 1972, seeks to shine a harsh light on the pain of ongoing repression facing Ukrainians today, especially the suffering endured by employees of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, who are illegally persecuted and held captive by the russian occupiers.

Energoatom is consistently fighting for the fate of every nuclear power professional who has fallen victim to the occupation regime. The company stands shoulder to shoulder with public organizations, human rights defenders, and government authorities, recognizing that the process of liberating Zaporizhzhia NPP employees is complex, lengthy, and effortful.

Currently, there are 14 ZNPP employees who have been abducted from their workplaces or homes and are still being illegally detained:
   • 10 people have been sentenced by the occupying authorities to terms ranging from 5 to 25 years
   • 2 people are considered missing
   • 2 people are awaiting “sentencing”.

We believe that all illegally detained employees of the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be released, and justice will be restored.

Representatives from the Energodar town authorities also participated in the event.
