Support for Ukraine's defenders: two years of the NGO “Guardians of Light” activity

main

On October 22, at the Energoatom office, the NGO “Guardians of Light”, established by the Company's employees, summarized two years of supporting defenders against russian aggression.

Over the course of two years, “Guardians of Light” has provided more than UAH 1.1 billion in aid to the Ukrainian military, processing over 400 requests from 160 military units. The lion's share of the funds was spent on the purchase of drones, ground stations, vehicles, and electronic warfare systems, which are critical to the effectiveness of our defenders on the front lines.

"I would like to thank the representatives of the public organization for their unindifference and tireless work. You accumulate funds donated by Energoatom employees and respond quickly and efficiently to requests from the military. I am sincerely grateful to our defenders who are protecting our land. The assistance of the entire Energoatom team is our duty and contribution to the common cause that brings us closer to victory," said Oleksandr Ostapovets, Inspector General – Director for Safety, Acting Board member of Energoatom.

The public organization has gradually developed and now has separate subdivisions in Pivdennoukrainsk, Varash, Slavutych, and Netishyn. Local offices enable the rapid collection and processing of military needs, allowing for the provision of necessary assistance to defenders without delay.

"Today we are celebrating two years since the founding of “Guardians of Light”, but in fact, representatives of Energoatom began volunteer work back in 2014. Forming a public organization allowed us to systematize the process and significantly increase the amount of assistance provided to the military. After all, with the start of the full-scale invasion, more than 1,000 NNEGC specialists stood up to defend their homeland, so the need for support increased significantly," said Bohdan Shmyhelskyi, Energoatom's Executive Director of Human Resources.

Representatives of “Guardians of Light” also spoke about new initiatives being implemented with  the company's support. These initiatives are aimed at physical and psychological rehabilitation, as well as assistance to the families of defenders, including insurance programs, health improvement, and support for the children of soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine.

Together to victory!
