The head of NNEGC mentioned that the Company is currently working with its partners on the implementation of new «nuclear» projects. In particular: construction of new power units using Westinghouse AP1000 technology at the Khmelnytsky NPP site, introduction of SMR technology in Ukraine, etc.
«In order to achieve the set goals, we are interested in cooperation with new partners. So Hyundai E&C could participate in these projects,» the head of NNEGC said.
In his turn, Hyung-Hwan Park expressed his support for Ukraine and conveyed Hyundai’s great willingness to deepen cooperation between the companies. The South Korean company is ready to join Ukrainian projects on the expansion of nuclear generation, as well as the implementation of joint innovation and research projects.
Within the framework of the meeting, Petro Kotin spoke about the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP temporarily occupied by the russians. He expressed hope that the pressure of the international community will help to force the russians to leave the largest nuclear facility in Europe. The head of NNEGC noted that after the return of the ZNPP to the control of Ukraine, Energoatom will count on the support of its partners to restore the safe operation of the plant.
