On April 2, Head of Energoatom Petro Kotin held a working meeting with representatives of the French government and the French Embassy in Ukraine. The parties addressed a number of important matters for the development of Ukrainian nuclear industry, in particular, attracting grant projects from the French government and ensuring the urgent needs of Energoatom for stable operation of nuclear facilities.
Among other things, the attendees discussed the prospects for the participation of French companies in the projects to develop nuclear capacities in Ukraine. As Head of Energoatom emphasized, France is the leader of the European nuclear industry. Therefore, enhancement of cooperation between countries, exchange of technologies and experience would give impetus to the development of nuclear industry throughout the European continent.
Petro Kotin expressed his gratitude to the French partners for their significant support for Ukrainian nuclear generation under the conditions of the russian invasion.
“France is a long-standing and reliable alliance partner of Ukraine in nuclear sector. We deeply appreciate the expert assistance and joint projects that contribute to strengthening the energy security of our state,” he said. Representatives of the French delegation, on their part, confirmed their readiness to provide further support for Ukrainian nuclear industry and accentuated the importance of joint efforts in the implementation of strategic projects.
