ruscists are once again proving their professional incompetence at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. 

The invaders tried to repair the damaged shunt reactor of the 750 kV Dniprovska overhead line, which is installed at the ZNPP 750 kV switchgear. It is connected to one of the overhead lines that supply Zaporizhzhia NPP with electricity for its in-house needs from the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

After the “repair” of the shunt reactor, which the occupationists have been carrying out since November 23, they tried to switch it on twice, and both times the reactor was shut down by longitudinal and transverse differential protection. The occupationists carried out all these actions without any approval or permission from the Ukrainian power grid's regional control center, which is a gross violation of regulatory documents, affects and can lead to a complete loss of power for NPP in-house needs followed by a nuclear or radiation accident development.  

That once again demonstrates the inability of occupationists to guarantee the safe operation and timely maintenance of the equipment and the lack of skilled personnel to carry out repairs.

“Due to their incompetence, the occupationists keep crippling the equipment of Zaporizhzhia NPP. We receive evidence of equipment degradation almost daily. The latest example also shows the ongoing disorder in the work organization at ZNPP. The invaders turned it into a military base, and incompetent people are responsible for nuclear and radiation safety. All this leads to uncontrolled events that can significantly impact NPP safety,” said Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin. 

He emphasized that data transmission on what is happening at Zaporizhzhia NPP must be resumed as soon as possible to the official operator, Energoatom, the regulator, and the IAEA.
