On January 28, the 53rd rotation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permanent Monitoring Mission took place at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site.

During a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Khmelnytskyi NPP and the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, the preliminary conclusions of the 52nd rotation experts and the recommendations they provided were discussed; the new composition of the international team was presented as well.

Experts from Armenia and Australia will work at the power plant for three weeks. The purpose of the mission is to monitor compliance with the IAEA’s seven pillars for nuclear safety and security under martial law.

The constant presence of international experts at the Khmelnytskyi NPP provides an objective assessment of the state of nuclear and radiation safety, and this is an important element of international control.
