On March 17, the 55th team of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permanent Monitoring Mission began its work at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site.
The international observers include representatives from Brazil and Spain. For three weeks, the experts will work at the Khmelnitskyi NPP, monitoring the state of nuclear and radiation safety and security.
The main task of the mission is to monitor compliance with the IAEA’s seven pillars for nuclear safety and security, inspect key facilities, and record the current situation.
Under the conditions of martial law, the presence of international experts is a crucial element of independent oversight, ensuring an objective evaluation of the NPP’s operation.
