IAEA mission rotation took place at Khmelnytskyi NPP

main

On December 12, the 51st rotation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) permanent monitoring mission took place at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site.

International experts from Cuba and Nigeria will work at the KhNPP for three weeks. The purpose of their visit is to monitor compliance with the IAEA’s seven indispensable pillars for nuclear safety and security at Ukrainian NPPs under martial law.

The permanent presence of IAEA missions at Ukrainian nuclear power plants was expanded in January 2023 in response to the unprecedented risks caused by russia's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. Continuous international monitoring is a crucial element in ensuring transparency and unbiased assessment of nuclear and radiation safety performance in Ukraine.
