On June 6, the 42nd rotation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) took place at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site; they are continuing to conduct ongoing monitoring of nuclear and radiation safety.

The new mission team included specialists from Cuba and the Republic of South Africa, who replaced the previous team of international observers. During the rotational meeting, the experts were introduced into the specifics of the work and discussed with representatives of the Khmelnytskyi NPP and the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee of Ukraine current safety aspects in the context of ongoing military aggression.

The IAEA mission operates at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site to monitor compliance with the seven fundamental principles of nuclear safety and security. On daily basis, the experts record the current situation, conduct inspections of key facilities, and provide an objective international assessment of the safety status of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
