On March 18, Head of NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin, together with the Company management, visited the South Ukraine Energy Complex within a framework of his working trip.
During the business trip:
• a technical meeting of Energoatom management and representatives of the South Ukraine NPP was held;
• a review of the structures designed to protect critical facilities of the plant was carried out;
• the status of the construction of spray ponds was assessed.
“We have actually completed one of the priority areas of work – the construction of spray ponds in full. We are now putting them into operation; that will allow us to increase electricity production at existing capacities by reducing the temperature of the water in the reservoir, which we use to cool the condensers of the NPP turbines; this will also contribute to improving the environmental situation in the area where the NPP is located. I express gratitude to the specialists of the South Ukraine NPP for the implementation of this strategically important project,” Head of NNEGC Petro Kotin said.
