On February 13, a meeting of the headquarters for the completion of Units 3 and 4 was held at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site. The responsible executors made reports on the implementation of repair and restoration work, and received tasks regarding the preparation of equipment for installation, which will take place after the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts the law on the completion of Units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP.
Minister of Energy mentioned Ukraine’s march in lockstep with the leading countries of the world that had relied on nuclear energy, and the completion of two units at the Khmelnytskyi NPP would allow our State to be among the leaders of the nuclear industry.
“We must restore the things that were, unfortunately, neglected for various reasons. Today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has reviewed the work schedule, and it is important for us to implement the plan submitted. The energy of the entire country depends on nuclear generation, so we must make efforts to cope with the task,” German Galushchenko said.
Energoatom Head Petro Kotin stressed the readiness of the Company specialists to start installing equipment on Unit 3.
“Energoatom is performing its activities, and it is very good that we are ready. A few days ago, the Verkhovna Rada supported the decision allowing us to purchase Bulgarian equipment for two power units. I express gratitude to President of Ukraine and Minister of Energy for their support; without their assistance, that would not have happened. We must be ready to complete our work in three years after the adoption of the law on the power unit completion,” Head of NNEGC said.
As a reminder, on February 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, where he listened a report on the construction of Unit 3 and held a meeting on the energy sector.
