Once again, “investigative journalist” Yu. Nikolov, manipulating the facts, posted a “sensational” publication with amateurish accusations against JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” regarding the planned tenders for 2025.
A loud headline, outright conjectures, and distorted facts – all this toolset was used by the miserable excuse for “whistleblower” solely to discredit a nationally significant strategic project for instant popularity.
To the attention of all the “experts” speculating on the Khmelnytskyi NPP completion, we declare:
Energoatom conducts all procurements publicly on the state platform Prozorro. Speaking of which, these purchases will be paid for with the company's own and credit funds.
Energoatom experts have performed a technical inspection of the equipment supplied from Belene NPP (Bulgaria) for the construction of power units 3 and 4 and equipment supplied from VC Summer NPP (USA) for the construction of Khmelnytskyi NPP power units 5 and 6.
All equipment is in satisfactory condition, which is confirmed by the relevant documents.
In the future, as part of the project implementation, additional documentation on safety requirements needs to be approved in accordance with the current rules and regulations on nuclear and radiation safety. For this purpose, Energoatom plans to order services to confirm compliance with the technical condition. Independent experts, supplier representatives, and the regulatory authority will be involved in this work. The survey will make it possible to conduct incoming inspection of products before installation, as required by Ukrainian and international safety rules and standards.
Unconfirmed statements about the increase in the cost of reactor equipment from the Belene NPP by the Bulgarian side are openly manipulative. After all, there is no official information from the Bulgarian side regarding the upward revision of the price. Instead, Ukraine is currently operating with actual data on the equipment cost of $600 million, which was confirmed by a decision of the Bulgarian parliament. The rest of the speculative discussions and publications in the media are conjectures that have nothing to do with the actual situation.
Despite all the challenges of wartime, JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” continues to operate transparently and efficiently, ensuring Ukraine's energy independence.
