On March 28, experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) visited the “Emergency Technical Center”, branch of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”.

Within the framework of the program to provide medical support to NPP personnel and ensure readiness to respond to emergencies, they handed over a specialized ambulance car.

This vehicle is designed for immediate medical attention, evacuation of victims to medical facilities, and support for rescue activities at nuclear power plants.

An IAEA representative informed that the handover of specialized equipment is part of the Agency efforts to support the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants and their personnel.

Energoatom Head Petro Kotin emphasized the importance of cooperation with the IAEA, especially under the conditions of martial law, and expressed gratitude for the assistance provided.

He commented that the presence of IAEA experts at Ukrainian nuclear facilities helps ensure transparency and objective assessment of the situation: “Under the conditions of unprecedented challenges facing the Ukrainian power industry, the role of the IAEA is extremely important. The presence of the Agency experts at Ukrainian nuclear facilities helps ensure transparency, strengthen control, and objectively assess the situation, as well as serves as a deterrent to the russian military, mitigating the risks of attacks on Ukraine’s nuclear facilities.”

This initiative is another step in strengthening Ukraine’s nuclear and radiation safety and stresses out the importance of international cooperation in this area.
