Today, Enerhodar—the satellite town of the Zaporizhzhia NPP—celebrates its 56th anniversary. Its history is inextricably linked to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, where power units have operated safely and reliably for decades. Entire generations of Ukrainian nuclear power professionals and their families worked every day to ensure the town’s well-being and prosperity.
However, for over four years now, our Ukrainian town of Enerhodar has been under russian occupation. The invaders have turned the jewel of Ukrainian nuclear energy into a place of fear, pain, and torture. Many residents of Enerhodar have been forced to leave their hometown. At the same time, those who remained under occupation despite the danger keep Ukraine in their hearts.
The true light of Enerhodar—its people—remains unbroken despite everything. The thousands-strong team of nuclear power plant professionals congratulates all Enerhodar residents on Town Day. We sincerely believe that the future of this satellite town will be exactly as you envision it in your dreams: happy, peaceful, and undoubtedly Ukrainian!
