On November 17, Pavlo Kovtonyuk, head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, paid a working visit to the Rivne NPP, familiarized himself with the current state of the facility's readiness for the autumn-winter period, and checked the progress of construction of protective structures.

The company's head held a production meeting with the power plant's management. Pavlo Kovtonyuk noted the successful completion of the planned repair campaign and stressed that during the winter period, nuclear power plants will operate at the maximum permissible load, ensuring stable electricity generation for the country's power system.

The head of Energoatom stressed that the reliability of protective structures is a key condition for the smooth operation of the power system and minimization of risks from the actions of the russian aggressor.

"We can all see that the enemy is deliberately attacking the energy infrastructure. The recent damage to substations complicates the situation in the power system. Therefore, it is critically important today to protect systems, substations, and transformers. Today, we checked the status of the construction completion of the protective structures. The commitments made by the company at the Rivne NPP are being fulfilled—construction on one of the switchgears is almost complete, while the rest of the facilities are planned to be completed this year. This large-scale and complex task requires careful calculations, design, and approvals. Our primary task is to provide Ukrainians with light and heat," highlighted Pavlo Kovtonyuk.

RNPP Director General Taras Tkach emphasized that the results of the visit demonstrated the systematic and effective work of the team of nuclear power professionals:

"Together with the company's management, we checked the status of construction completion and readiness for commissioning of protective structures at the RNPP. We received a satisfactory assessment and instructions to update the work completion schedules with clearly defined deadlines. We separately discussed the progress of ongoing projects, as well as promising future modernization and new construction plans for 2026 and beyond. Slowing down is not an option: we will update existing plans and determine further steps for the implementation of new projects at the power plant."

During the meeting, the head of Energoatom presented a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Energy to Serhii Kuroiedov, the Rivne NPP Deputy Director General for capital construction and head of the capital construction department. He thanked the Rivne NPP team for their professionalism and dedication to their work, and called on them to continue to maintain high standards of operational safety and technical availability.
