Energoatom specialists participated in a technical workshop organized by the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development

On November 6-7, in Paris, a technical workshop of the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/NEA) was held concurrently with the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025. During the event, participants summarized the results of the international project “Long-Term Operation Beyond 60 Years” (LTO Beyond 60 Years).

Nuclear power professionals from around the world examined the current state of power units and identified knowledge and technology gaps that need to be addressed to extend the operating life of nuclear power plants beyond 60 years.

Specialists from operating organizations, technical experts from national nuclear regulatory authorities, representatives of leading global scientific, industrial, and engineering companies—EPRI (USA), EDF (France), CEZ, UJV (Czech Republic), VTT (Finland), as well as specialists from prestigious international institutions, in particular, the IAEA and WNA, attended the workshop.

Specialists from JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom’ presented reports on key issues of scientific and technical development in the industry. Ukrainian nuclear power professionals shared their experience in extending the service life of components, systems, and structures of power units with the most common types of reactors in the world, such as PWR, BWR, VVER, etc.

The discussions also touched upon possible further cooperation between JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” and other project participants in ensuring the safe long-term operation of NPP power units.
