Over the three years of full-scale war, russia has repeatedly reminded the international community that there are no red lines for the aggressor. The latest example is the brazen damage by an enemy drone to the protective shelter at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. If it were not for the heroic and professional actions of Ukrainian rescuers, the scale of the accident could have been much more serious.

This time, a regular meeting of heads of structural units on emergency preparedness and response of the branches was held at the branch “SS “Emergency Technical Center” jointly with the Head Office of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”.

The agenda included civil protection issues, assessment of readiness for events that may occur around nuclear power plants, and interaction with the State Emergency Response Service units under martial law.

All meeting participants demonstrated a high level of readiness to act in emergencies.

Petro Kotin, CEO of Energoatom, emphasized that the company is constantly improving the emergency response system, taking into account all possible threats.

“Energoatom ensures a high-level emergency preparedness by adapting approaches to new challenges arising from military threats from russia. We closely cooperate with the relevant services and international partners to guarantee the safety of our nuclear facilities under any conditions,” said Petro Kotin.
