For three years, the illegitimate occupation authorities have been trying to integrate the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant into the russian power grid, using nuclear blackmail. The seizure of the NPP, the threat of an environmental disaster, a gross violation of the Convention on Nuclear Safety – all these facts are the direct evidence that rosatom is a party in war crimes.
Decrees of the President of Ukraine No. 594/2025 and No. 595/2025 cover dozens of individuals and legal entities involved in these crimes, and synchronize Ukraine’s sanctions policy with our Western allies.
“The introduction of sanctions is an important step that brings justice closer. For years, rosatom and its management have been trying to cover up their participation in war crimes with a false image of a peaceful atom. However, the world sees the truth: it is an instrument of aggression, not development. We are grateful to the President of Ukraine for this extremely important position. Everyone involved in the seizure of Ukrainian NPPs and nuclear blackmail must bear responsibility – both legally and economically,” said Head of Energoatom Petro Kotin.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP must be demilitarized as soon as possible to the last occupant and returned to the full control of Ukraine and its legal operator, JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”. Only this will guarantee the stable and safe operation of the plant and peace for the entire European region.
