On March 25, Head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin and CEO of JSC “Sense Bank” Oleksii Stupak signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to expand nuclear power facilities in Ukraine, in particular, complete the power units of the Khmelnytskyi NPP.

With consideration of Ukraine’s strategic need to ensure energy independence and create a sustainable energy infrastructure, the parties will cooperate on arrangements of financing for the procurement of equipment from the Bulgarian Belene NPP, necessary for the completion of Units 3 and 4 at the Khmelnytskyi NPP.

“For over 10 years, Sense Bank and NNEGC “Energoatom” have been partners, and we are pleased to extend this cooperation with such a strategic document as the Memorandum. The signing was preceded by considerable efforts: starting from the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, where Draft Law No. 11392 was adopted, to its signing by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Financing NNEGC “Energoatom” will be beneficial for both business and the economy of Ukraine in the future. Therefore, we call on other banks to join this initiative and contribute to the development of a powerful, stable and independent energy system of Ukraine,” Oleksii Stupak said.

“In the context of constant hostile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the completion of power units at the Khmelnytskyi NPP will not only significantly strengthen our power grid, but will also enable the Ukrainian economy to operate effectively during the post-war recovery. Therefore, the signing of today’s Memorandum is evidence of our readiness to work together to ensure a stable future for Ukraine with clean, affordable electricity!” Petro Kotin emphasized.

According to the document, Sense Bank will invite other banks to cooperate in arranging finances for the necessary equipment. At the same time, the cooperation between Energoatom and Sense Bank is a mutual expression of trust between state institutions within the framework of the implementation of one of the most important energy projects in modern Ukrainian history.
